I have a life-long enthusiasm for art in all its forms and it has played an important part in my life since childhood and during my time raising a family.
When my granddaughter was born in 2008, she became my muse - inspiring me to create illustrations for her. She re-ignited my passion for drawing and painting. My aim is to create books that she can enjoy reading. My artwork is my contribution to the literary field.
I work mostly in pencil and colour pencil as this enables me to achieve the fine detail that I enjoy including in my work. Acrylic is another medium that I favour.
I find inspiration from artists and illustrators such as Drew Struzan, Kim Lewis, Shirley Hughes, Jonny Duddle, Brian Froud and Edward Gorey to name but a few. It is not only artists that provide inspiration - I find it all around in everyday life.

I studied illustration at Edinburgh College where I achieved my HND and I am presently at Edinburgh College of Art doing a BA Hons Illustration Degree.
